Take Me Back Tuesday & Flashback Friday

Softball 1986
Age 12

I only played softball in 7th&8th grade.  I was not very good...I am not really a sporty person.  I am loving the feathered hair.  What was I thinking?  Up until this year, my hair had been long and in 2 braids. After badgering my mom for years, she finally agreed to let me get my haircut and this is what I wanted.  What was I thinking?  Holey Helmet Head!  Hello, AquaNet Hairspray!  (I am shocked I didn't fly away with those wings)  How about those glasses?  They were pink on the bottom and brown on the top, stylin!  They were my first pair of glasses.

I am loving Facebook lately.  I have gone crazy scanning in old photos.  I have been added them all to facebook, tagging people that are in them.

Oh I love that photo! I rocked some feathered hair, too! But me and anything sport related just did not jive.

Wait! I just got stuck on the fact that you were 12 in 1986. Eeps, I am old. I graduated in 1982. Yeah, do that math. Older than dinosaurs. I mean, I knew you were a spring chicken but geesh gal - you really ARE a spring chicken. :)

Seriously, I remember the feathered look (be thankful you weren't a teen in the Farah days ... I still have nightmares). And your glasses were THE height of fashion then. I had a pair just like them, so did my sister. We were so stylin'! :)

Love the flash backs. Well, yours. I don't dare scan any of mine!

(Cue dinosaurs walking around in the background and Kiy carrying a stone tablet notebook to school ...)

I love it! I think we all had the same hair then! I haven't done the Facebook tag thing yet, I will have to try that!

DUUUUDDDEEE...I totally had those glasses...only I think I got mine in 1988 when I was a senior in high school (thanks mom for suggesting I get those frames). Never have a I seen such perfect 80's Aqua Net hair...for a softball pic :) All of my soccer pics are of me with the worst hair imaginable. They had a habit of taking them on game day...something in hindsight never made much sense. At least a couple of them were taken BEFORE the game. I have one taken after a game...and there's no mistaking it!

I'd poke fun but you've already done that marvelously well. :) It's so amusing to look back at what we used to think was cool.

I think it's awesome!! I played softball from age 6-18yrs & was reasonably good. I am 34 now. Softball was never as big in the land of Oz unfortunately as it is in USA but it was still a great part of my life & still have friends from those years. Thanks for the pic lots of memories have started flooding my way.

Great picture! I played softball at 12 too with big pink plastic glasses! Thanks for sharing! How do all your old friends feel about having their childhood pictures posted on facebook?

I am sooo glad that you seem to have a sense of humor about that since I at first wondered why your hat wasn't fully on your head. :)
I had those glasses too (we are the same age so clearly we were just both incredibly stylish) and they were my first pair as well. I remember the lady at the optometrist telling me how the colors of the frames really looked good with my skin color. I was thinking I looked pretty cool. Until I went to school with them on... The ONLY day I went to school with them on. :)

I am just loving how that hat is so gently placed on your head!
